Mt. Bachelor quite literally "stands apart" from the nearby Three Sisters and Broken Top in central Oregon. A younger volcano, its relatively smooth surface and 9,068-foot (2,764 m) elevation makes for excellent skiing, and it is home to one of the largest single-mountain ski areas in the United States. Catching the chairlift to the summit and having the freedom to carve your way down in any direction is a truly sublime experience!
